 HDD is a safe and environmentally friendly way to construct pipelines with minimal surface disturbance not only in congested areas but also to preserve wetlands and other sensitive areas. Gibson Directional is one of the few firms that combines decades of successful HDD installations with the ability and resources to carry out the other tasks involved with building a new pipeline or utility project. Our fleet has the capacity to install products that range from one inch to over three feet in diameter.

  Open cut, as the name implies, is a method of pipeline installation that requires opening up the surface of the ground to the required depth for installing a pipeline.  In open cut method of pipeline installation, a trench has to be excavated for installing each piece of pipe. This method can be used for installation as well as rehabilitation of pipeline and requires digging up the ground surface to the required depth in case of installation or digging up to pipeline depth in case of rehabilitation to expose the pipe.
